OUR CHILDREN NOURISHED ON MARE'S MILK Episode 3

Published : - Categories : Default

During 4 crazy years, I ran the farm , the breeding and my two little darlings alone during the week but at weekends, another life was waiting for us… I left all the work and the boys to my husband and I went to the markets to sell our products

At the time I was selling bread made with mare's milk in addition to milk in bottles, recipe developed by chance, one day when I put too much mare's milk in my flour and the bread made for our friends was so successful that I I went to find the young baker from the village next door who made me my breads to sell them in the markets of the region

This is how we became aware of the potential of mare's milk alone or in preparations ( pancakes , béchamel , bread etc). But we couldn't go on like this, alone doing everything 7 days a week

My husband also dreamed of being a peasant and then we made a big decision. Move from farm , find a bigger one because we could not grow in the small farm in the Bresle valley and settle down together to create a real professional dairy and bring mare's milk into kitchens and customs food of the French

We then decided to stay in Normandy for its high symbolism with milk and horses but we looked for a farm in the Orne whose built heritage we love. After 3 weeks and 5 visits, we fell in love with "la Moisière" near Sées. It was so fast and it was such a crush that we felt this would be our path . My husband then quit his job to become the peasant he dreamed of being and I was so happy that we could finally work together on a daily basis < / p>

We still had to move our small farm … 5 semi-trailers, 3 trips by horsepower truck, 2 trucks of 50m cubic. We felt like a circus. We arrived there on April 1, 2007 with luggage and children . What an adventure but it was only the beginning

End of the 3rd episode…
